Modern lens material is very soft and during the edging process there might be a little swarf remaining where the bevel meets the surfaces. You want to remove this excess material and not run the risk of scratching the lens.

"One of the products we manufacture is the Hot Box frame warmer and we use it often to test certain eyewear materials. Some of these materials need to get very hot before they can take an adjustment. This really gets tough on the fingers. To help save our fingers and yours, I wanted to come up with a handy and easy solution. By the way, The Temple Tamer is the first product we designed and made using 3D printing."

Accurately measures bifocal placement from the pupil to the lowest point on the eyewire.

Really handy and accurate way to measure bifocal placement. Simply align the top of the cross bar under the patient's pupil and read the lowest point of the eyewire on the scale. For patients with a narrow PD just slide the rule so the scale is at the lowest eyewire  point and the wide crossbar will still remain directly under the pupil for truly accurate readings.

"Often I am asked, “Why can’t screwdriver blades be magnetized?” Here’s the answer. They can be… (pause for effect)…but they just can’t be permanently magnetized. It has to do with the type of steel used to make blades: soft enough to be stamped into shape and strong enough to be able to be hardened. That translates to low iron content steel and it is the iron that holds the magnetic charge. The key is to keep applying a magnetic charge to the steel when not in use and it will hold the charge for when it is in use. That’s what this little guy does." 

Are you having trouble adjusting the end pieces on nylon cord rimless?

Does the cord pop out of the lens’ groove as you adjust the temple? This is the perfect tool for adjusting the temples without putting pressure on the end piece. Use a piece of cellophane tape to protect the frame surface and then safely bring temples in without stressing the nylon cord. An excellent tool for adjusting delicate corners or reshaping a clip-on to conform to the frame.
