You need to replace a pair of nose pads. If you are lucky, the pads will just drop out when you try to remove them. If you are not, you will have to wrestle them out of the box changing the position of the nose pad box and arm. With this plier a quick change stays that way without having to do a full readjustment. Slip the pronged jaw between the pad and the box and let the hooked jaw pop out the pad.

" his plier inspiration came from hanging around busy dispensaries. A patient comes in for a nose pad swap. Should take a few moments of pleasant banter and it’s done. Yet a simple procedure turns complicated as the nose pad arm gets bent out of shape while trying to dislodge the pad. Now the frame needs to be readjusted. This little plier will pop out the pad without moving the arm. We made it a MicroTool because we didn’t want you to use too much effort to get the pad out" 

Play It Safe.

Years ago, all eyewear screws were made from soft “pot metal”. Ordinary cutters could do a sufficient job and last several years. Nowadays, you don’t know if you are going to be cutting a pot metal screw or a hard stainless steel screw. If your cutter is not tempered to be harder than stainless it will develop divots and ruin the cutting edges. To play it safe, use this end cutter to slice through any screw you encounter. The 22mm cutting edge is angled and tapered to a fine point. Made of tempered carbon stainless steel.

Cutters for soft metals can be scaled down and have the advantage of being able to get into tighter spaces on a frame.

The head is tapered to a fine point. The smaller scale means, however, that the cutting edge is not appropriate for hard metals.

Curves ahead.

The nose pad arms look like they’ve been steam rolled.  In one quick action, you can put the correct curve back into that pad arm. Place the plier’s concave jaw where you want the curve and the opposite jaw will press the arm into perfect shape. Actually, kind of brilliant.

Three rules PLUS a pinhole occluder.

Use the scales on this rule to measure binocular PD, monocular PD, seg height, bridge, DBL of frame and eyewire A and B dimensions. A pinhole occluder tests visual acuity. 7-3/8" long by 1" wide.

"Western manufactures the Hot Box frame warmer and we have conducted many tests on which size glass beads most evenly distributes and retains the heat for more efficient operation and the avoidance of hot spots. We’ve even tried plastic beads (didn’t work). Beads that are too fine (like sand or salt) trap the heat and when combined over time with atmospheric moisture can turn the medium into a brick which can burn or scratch the eyewear. Our Performance Enhancing Glass Beads allows small gaps between the spheres for air flow and even heat distribution. Breaking with tradition, we do not offer two sizes of beads. We decided only to offer the best size at a competitive price."
