RX Verifier #2062A
Verify. Verify. Verify.
Every job you get back from the lab needs to be verified. Place your eyewear with spotted lenses on the Rx Verifier, aka prescription axis aligner, to check both the monocular and binocular PD. You can also determine seg height and check that the seg is level. 6” W x 2” H x 1” D.
Insider Info from Joshua
"This isn’t the only RX Verifier on the market but it is the best. Here’s why. We moved the printing to the backside of the plate so it won’t wear off. By having you assemble the unit, you can position horizontal zero exactly how you like it. We significantly expanded the base plate to make it easier to hold eyewear in place when taking readings. Simple but proprietary tweaks so you get years and years of use."
Screw Loosening Fluid #4110
Do you have a screw stuck so tightly that any more pressure will strip the driver slot and create more problems?
Use a drop of this specially formulated screw loosening fluid on the head and base of the screw and allow it to sink in. The fluid is designed to flow between the threads to make it easier to break free. 6cc applicator.
Accurately measures bifocal placement from the pupil to the lowest point on the eyewire.
Really handy and accurate way to measure bifocal placement. Simply align the top of the cross bar under the patient's pupil and read the lowest point of the eyewire on the scale. For patients with a narrow PD just slide the rule so the scale is at the lowest eyewire point and the wide crossbar will still remain directly under the pupil for truly accurate readings.
Minimizes miscommunication with the lab. Clear plastic with black scale. Also, great for taking box measurements. 7" long.
Rules To Abide By
"A PD rule can be much more than a simple measuring stick. Check out the features on our selection of rules. You will surely find one that makes your dispensing or lab task easier and more accurate. All American made where a 70mm reading on the scale is 70mm in reality."
We’ve figured out a way to get around the fact that the type of steel used to make pliers and driver blades cannot be permanently magnetized. This is the easy and efficient way to continuously provide a magnetic charge to drivers, tweezers and pliers to pick up those small screws and findings.
Holds 12 tools (not included). Measures 2-1/2" H x 3" diameter. A Western exclusive!
"Often I am asked, “Why can’t screwdriver blades be magnetized?” Here’s the answer. They can be… (pause for effect)…but they just can’t be permanently magnetized. It has to do with the type of steel used to make blades: soft enough to be stamped into shape and strong enough to be able to be hardened. That translates to low iron content steel and it is the iron that holds the magnetic charge. The key is to keep applying a magnetic charge to the steel when not in use and it will hold the charge for when it is in use. That’s what this little guy does."
Wide Mouth Lens Caliper #2060WM
Laboratory grade caliper for measuring extra large and extra thick lenses.

#2500Export – 220 Volt $220.00
Helpful usage tip: Plug The Hot Box into a wall timer and set it to come on an hour before you plan on seeing patients. This will give the unit enough time to get up to temperature. On first set up turn the On/Off switch to the midway point and control the temperature for each frame by raising (cooler) or lowering (hotter) the glass beads. Adjust the On/Off switch until you find the heat level you are comfortable with. The temperature adjustment is not like a quickly responding toaster as the heat is very gradual.
CAUTION: The temperature knob will be HOT to the touch. Do not use it to raise and lower the temperature of the medium bath on a per job basis.
The clean way to evenly transfer heat around eyewear. Beads measure approximately 2mm in diameter. Beads won't get caught in bevels or hinges. Each five pound container fills the Hot Box to the proper level.
"Western manufactures the Hot Box frame warmer and we have conducted many tests on which size glass beads most evenly distributes and retains the heat for more efficient operation and the avoidance of hot spots. We’ve even tried plastic beads (didn’t work). Beads that are too fine (like sand or salt) trap the heat and when combined over time with atmospheric moisture can turn the medium into a brick which can burn or scratch the eyewear. Our Performance Enhancing Glass Beads allows small gaps between the spheres for air flow and even heat distribution. Breaking with tradition, we do not offer two sizes of beads. We decided only to offer the best size at a competitive price."

For a limited time, get a FREE Goldilocks Screw Gauge. To qualify you MUST add item #2059 to your cart, and with a minimum purchase of $50, it's FREE!
Too big? Too small? Just right!
Determining the correct size replacement screw is a frustrating, time consuming task. It’s the “Goldilocks” dilemma. The first screw you try is too large, the next is too small. You want to find the right screw the first time. Western Optical Supply has exactly what you need to quickly determine a replacement screw size.
With the Goldilocks Screw Gauge™ spend less time replacing screws and more time selling eyewear.
The Goldilocks Screw Gauge™ is a precision milled steel probe graduated in six “steps” of increasing diameter. Insert the gauge through the barrel’s bottom threaded leaf until it feels snug. Note which “step” is in the barrel. Compare that “step” to the sizing chart provided to determine the proper replacement screw diameter. The colors on the chart correspond with most major screw suppliers’ color code on the cap of the screw vial. If your color coding is different, there is a chart on the reverse that you can customize with your own color code. Patents Pending.
Insider Info from Joshua
For years, Western has been asked to carry a line of screws. I have been very hesitant to get involved in offering a product that does not have a competitive advantage. In response to these requests, we researched what innovation would be needed in the world of eyeglass screws.
What we found is that the industry does not need another line of screws, but it does need a time saving way of determining the proper screw size.
The old-fashioned screw gauge measures the size of the barrel hole but does not consider the added dimension of the screw threads. A 1.2mm hole does not use a 1.2mm replacement screw. Therefore, it gives only a rough starting point.
Western Optical Supply went to work designing an accurate and easy to use probe that correlates to the correct screw diameter. However, to manufacture the Goldilocks Screw Gauge required advanced technology. To mill stainless steel on this micro scale with precision tolerances within 0.005” down to the tip of an ever thinning spindle is a technical feat. The resulting gauge will make the task of replacing screws much less of a chore.
